BELLVILLE — Residents of Bellville and Butler have important decisions to make this Election Day.
Both Bellville and Butler have village council races on the November ballot, with six candidates in each town running for four seats.
Voters will have the chance to hear from these candidates live and in person on Oct. 22 during Candidate Conversations in the Valley.
The event will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church (48 Church Street) in Bellville. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Richland Source Lead Reporter Katie Ellington Serrao will moderate the event.
“I’m so excited to bring this unique part of our election coverage to the community I grew up in,” said Ellington Serrao, a 2014 graduate of Clear Fork High School.
“Democracy is at its best when voters are informed and communities are civically engaged. Candidate Conversations is about creating a space that fosters both those things.”
Candidate Conversations are not debates, but informal and civil discussions focused on the issues. All 12 candidates have been invited to participate.
The event will incorporate the “Candidate Conversations” model developed by Richland Source managing editor Carl Hunnell.
This event is free to the public, but seating is limited. Attendees are encouraged to reserve a spot via Eventbrite.
Candidate Conversations in the Valley will also be livestreamed on Richland Source’s Facebook page and a video will be available on YouTube the following day.
Live audience questions will not be taken during the event. If you have a question you would like us to consider, please email Katie@RichlandSource.com.
