ONTARIO — Morgan Pearson twirled a complete-game three-hitter as Ontario knocked off Clear Fork 2-1 in Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference action Monday at Ontario.
Pearson struck out eight and walked one. She retired the final seven batters after giving up an earned run in the fifth.
The Warriors (8-6, 5-3) gave Pearson all the run support she wold need in the bottom of the first. Ellie Dawson delivered the biggest hit of the evening, belting a two-out, two-run double.
The Warriors managed just three hits. Eden Howard singled in the first and came around to score on Dawson’s double, while Kennedy Weiler singled in the second.
Miley Shafer was the hard-luck loser for the Colts (7-5, 5-1). She struck out nine and walked two in six inninsg of work.
Presley Lilly accounted for two of Clear Fork’s three hits and scored the only run. Hailey Thrush singled, while Jade Brokaw knocked in a run.
