The weatherman got it right this time.

The National Weather Service office in Cleveland on Saturday predicted two to five inches of snow on Sunday as temperatures fell and precipitation changed from sleet and rain to the white variety more often associated with winter.

A winter that officially continues until March 20, by the way.

They nailed it.

Snow is expected to continue through mid afternoon on Sunday before gradually tapering off. Winds are expected to increase, which would lead to blowing and drifting snow and reduced visibilities while driving.

Sheriff’s offices in Richland, Ashland and Knox counties had all declared Level Two snow emergencies by mid Sunday morning. Some area churches cancelled Sunday services

Under a Level Two, “roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Roads may also be very icy. Only those who feel it is necessary should be out on the roads. Contact your employer to see if you should report to work.”
