Maureen Cecile Hoffman, 81, of East Liverpool, (formerly of Columbus) passed away on February 10, 2025, at St. Mary’s Alzheimer Center in Columbiana, after a four-year residency.
Maureen was born on January 13, 1944, in Bluffton, IN, to the late Lloyd and Marjorie (Fisher) Hoffman.
In addition to her parents, Maureen was preceded in death by a brother Ted M. Hoffman of Jacksonville, FL.
Maureen graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School in Crestline, OH. Entering the convent Order of the Franciscan’s and taking her vows in 1969. Following her commitment to her faith, Maureen succeeded in her teaching capacity for fifty-two years.
Maureen is survived by sisters Mary Pat (Claire) Davis of Crestline; Colleen Shaw of East Liverpool; Peggy Hoffman of Spring Green, WI; and Cathy (Sherman) Collings of Chambersburg, PA; her brothers; Huff Terry (Shelia) Hoffman of East Liverpool; Brendan (Cathy) Hoffman, Ponte Vedra, FL, Patrick (Shirley) Hoffman, Jacksonville, FL, two Godchildren, Tim Greci and Julie Ann Hager and many nieces and nephews.
Maureen will be remembered by family, friends, and teachers for her love of all her students, and her spirit will live in the hearts of those who loved her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 331 North Thoman St., Crestline, with Fr. Jeff Smith, Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Crestline.
