Barbara Kay Morrison, 79, of Galion, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. Barb was born on February 25, 1945, in Sarton, WV, to the late Gerald and Bernice (Pence) Weikle.
Barb married Carl “Gene” Morrison on May 16, 1964, and they spent 43 years of marriage together before his passing on July 27, 2007.
Known for her vibrant personality, Barb had a zest for life that was contagious. She embraced her creative side through puzzles and adult coloring books, finding joy in the little things. A true jokester at heart, Barb often found ways to lighten the mood, sometimes to the embarrassment of her family, but always with a twinkle in her eye and a smile on her face. She never knew a stranger, fostering friendships wherever she went, and her warmth drew people in. Barb cherished her role as a mother and took great pride in her family’s accomplishments, ensuring that family always came first.
Barb is survived by her sons: Michael Morrison of Crestline and Brian (Rebecca) Morrison of Galion; 9 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and her sister: Leveta (Clare) Campbell of Bellville.
In addition to her parents and husband, Barb as preceded in death by her children: Jena Scartz and Ralph Morrison; daughter-in-law: Jo Morrison; and her siblings: Leon Weikle, Bennie Weikle, Thelma Ward, Gerald “Arnold” Weikle, Carlis Weikle, Palmer Weikle and Annalee Slaughter.
Friends may call on Monday, February 17, 2025, from 11:00am – 12:00pm at Heritage Baptist Church, 1381 State Route 61, Galion, OH 44833. The service will immediately follow at 12:00pm with Pastor Rodney Noblit officiating. Burial will follow at Shauck Cemetery, Johnsville.
