LEXINGTON: Rochelle Gedeon’s striking smile paled in the shadow of her beautiful spirit. Blessed with the spiritual gifts of kindness, goodness and faithfulness (Gal 5:22,23) her devotion to Christian principles coupled with a generous character, resulted in a personality that was nothing less than gorgeous.
Rochelle’s lifelong struggle with epilepsy and heart condition ended with a seizure that took her into the Lord’s presence Saturday, August 6, 2016 from her Lexington home. She was 41.
Born July 29, 1975 in Parma, Rochelle was graduated from Lexington High School after earning her nursing assistant degree from Pioneer Career Center. She attended North Central State College studying Office Administration, working in the area in health care and local offices.
A member of Resurrection Parish, Rochelle sang in the choir and served as a Eucharistic Minister. Rochelle knew God in a very personal way, and though life wasn’t easy for her, she felt a strong calling to minister and serve others.
She is survived by her daughter Gabriella I. Gedeon, (and her father Ty Jones); her parents Arthur “Art” and Eileen (Webber) Gedeon of Mansfield; brothers Stephen (Cindy) Gedeon of Byron, MI and Mark (Val) Gedeon of Linden, MI; and nieces and nephews Terra, Nash, Tabitha and Penny.
She was preceded in death by a nephew Alex Gedeon.
Rochelle’s family will receive friends Tuesday, August 9, 2016 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home, where a Christian Prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in Resurrection Parish, 2600 Lexington Avenue with Father Nelson Beaver officiating. Inurnment will be in Mansfield Cemetery.
