John A. Bisesi, 85 of Ashland passed away, Tuesday, January 21, 2025 in University Hospitals Samaritan Medical Center.

He was born on November 8, 1939 in Akron, Ohio the son of the late John Anthony and Rosella (née O’Bryan) Bisesi.

John graduated from Buchtel High School, Class of 1958. He furthered his education and attended Kent State University and completed his bachelor’s degree in business management from Boston College in 1962. John proudly served in the United States Army from 1960 to 1964.

He married the former Mary Ann Henley on June 30, 1963.

John retired in 2010 after more than 15 years as the owner/president of Ashland Appliance Center; he was previously employed at Wooster Appliance Center and B.F. Goodrich Tire and Rubber Company.

John was a devoted member of the St. Edward Catholic Church where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Throughout his life he was an Ashland sports enthusiast, including attending all Ashland High School and Ashland University sporting events. In his earlier years, John bowled for many years on a league at King Lanes and enjoyed boating on Charles Mill with his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mrs. Mary Ann Bisesi of Ashland; one daughter, Patty (Dan) Acuna of Liberty Township; two sons, Bob (Robin) Bisesi of Lenexa, Kansas and Tony (Nicki) Bisesi of Lincoln, Nebraska; eight grandchildren, Dr. Dominic (Brianna) Bisesi of St. Louis, Missouri, Dr. Carli (Chris) Paperi of Kansas City, Missouri, Taylor and Harrison Bisesi of Lincoln, Nebraska, Tara Bisesi of Lincoln, Nebraska, Danielle Acuna of Cleveland, Andrew (Kayla) Acuna of Hyde Park, Ohio, and Michael Acuna of Liberty Township; four great grandchildren, Haden and Elle Agena and CC and Jones Paperi; and one sister, Maryann Donatelli of Akron.

In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by one brother, Paul Bisesi.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Edward Catholic Church with Father Rod Kreidler presiding. Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the service at the church from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Edward Catholic Church, 501 Cottage Street, Ashland, Ohio 44805.
