Jessica Leigh Huff, 47 years old, of Ashland, Ohio, found eternal peace on January 14, 2025. She entered this world on February 22, 1977, in Shelby, Ohio.

Jess’ legacy lives on through her two beloved sons, Samuel B. Yahney and Andrew J. Yahney, who reside in Mansfield, Ohio. She is cherished not only by them but also by her devoted mother, Kathryn S. Lockhart of Wooster, Ohio; her father Randy L. Huff, and his wife Tina, of Ashland; her two brothers, Cary Leslie and his wife, Tara, from Vermillion, Ohio, and Trent Leslie of Bremerton, Washington; as well as her sister, Laura Duhaime and her husband, Doug, from Goffstown, New Hampshire. Two stepbrothers, Brian (Ann) Dudte, of Ostrander, Ohio and Jerrod Coning of Carolina Beach, North Carolina, and one stepsister Emily (Andre) Coning of Wooster, Ohio. Additionally, her heart will always remain with her Maternal Grandfather, Jim Gillam of Lexington, Ohio, and her treasured Nieces and Nephews, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and countless friends. The family would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Jess’ lifelong friend, Jennifer Harper of Ashland, Ohio. Jess is preceded by her Grandmother Mary Gillam, Grandmother Connie Sponseler, Grandfather Samuel Huff, Uncle Tom Huff, and her Aunt Chris Brown.

Those who had the privilege of knowing Jess loved her with all their hearts. She was a pillar of strength with shoulders of steel, exuding a warmth and compassion that revealed her heart of gold. Her sons, Sam and Andrew, were the brightest lights in her life, and she took immense pride in the wonderful young men they have become. No matter how tall they grew, to her, they would always be her “little men”. As you remember Jess, hold onto the beautiful qualities that made her who she was – her sharp and delightful sense of humor, her remarkable ability to find the silver lining in any situation, her compassionate listening without judgment, and her boundless capacity for unconditional love.

If Jess could share one piece of wisdom, it would be to “always be kind; you never know what someone else is facing”. Let’s honor her memory by spreading kindness, bringing joy to others, and loving fiercely, just as she did.

The family invites all who knew and loved Jess to join them at her Celebration of Life on Sunday, January 26, 2025 anytime between 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM at Water’s Edge Event Center – 170 Summerset Drive, Ashland, Ohio 44805.
