Gloria Moysi

MANSFIELD: People are like stars, they come and go. But the ones that stay are the ones that glow. Gloria “Glow” Moysi was aptly named. Her selfless personality – caring, loving, serving – was a light inside of her, relentlessly shining on everyone she touched or came into her path.

Gloria’s light is brightening heaven as she passed into the Lord’s presence Sunday afternoon July 10, 2016 from Hospice of North Central Ohio. She was 90.

Born Fennella Glow Squires August 26, 1925 in Chesterville to Craven W. and Luemma B. (Mitchell) Squires. Glow was aptly named.

She was graduated from Chesterville High School in 1945, and remained close with monthly alumni functions.

An active member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, the historic church was the site of her April 13, 1952 wedding with David Martin Moysi. Gloria served in the nursery of the church and supplied congregational events with baked goods.

Gloria packed so much in a day. She poured herself in raising her family, and later her grandchildren, supporting their every sporting, dance or school event, cheering “Yippee” from the stands. She cooked for Madison area sports teams (macaroni salad, hamloaf, and brownies beyond compare), all the while gardening and keeping their landscaping pristine, she and Dave won the Mansfield Mens Garden Club beautification award.

She was active with LaSertoma and a 50-Year member of Daughters of Herman. Renowned for her greeting card ministry, Gloria held fast to old fashion, Christian values, being raised on a farm served her well.

She is survived by her children Rhonda (Ron) Pore, Karen Moysi and Mark “Markie” (Joan) Moysi all of Mansfield, and Judith Will of Denver, CO; grandchildren Renee (John) Neron, Regan Pore, Ryan (Ashley) Pore, Dustin (Megan) Moysi, Zachary (Kasey) Moysi, and Ashley (Zach) Roth; great grandchildren Allie, Camden, Dane, Abrianna, Brookson, Connor, Stella, Luca, and Emme; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her devoted husband David Moysi preceded her in death on July 6, 2014. Also deceased are all of her siblings: Eva Bockover, Ethel Garver, Wanda Bowers, Ola Heston, Harry, Guy, Don, Fred, Hoy, Alva, and Ruwe Squires.

The Moysi family will receive guests Thursday, July 14, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Finefrock Chapel of the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home, where a funeral service for a lady aptly named Glow will be held Friday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Dr. George Spink will officiate. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.

Contributions in her memory to St. John’s United Church of Christ may be made at the funeral home.
