In loving memory of Vivian A. Black, age 96 of Mansfield who passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at the Crestwood Care Center in Shelby.

She was born December 5, 1927 in Lore City, Ohio the daughter of Leslie & Martha (Felton) Redd.

On July 12, 1947, she married John Black. Together they shared 67 wonderful years of marriage until he passed away in 2015. Now they are together again.

Vivian enjoyed puzzles and playing card and board games with her family. She loved boating on Charles Mill lake, as well as vacation trips to Michigan, Niagara Falls and the Carolinas. She also loved to watch figure skating and attended several exhibitions. Vivian was a good cook and leaves behind cherished memories of family get-togethers, as she loved her family very much.

She is survived by daughter Karen Edmiston; sons Kevin and Brian Black; five grandchildren Jason Edmiston, Jennifer Edmiston, Jeffrey Edmiston, Ashley Black and Lisa Yarger. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and her sister-in-law Janet Redd of Lore City.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband of 67 years John Black.

Vivian’s family will receive friends Monday, April 29, 2024 from 11 a.m. till 12 p.m. in the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where a funeral service honoring Vivians’s life will begin immediately at 12 p.m. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
