FALLING WATERS, WV: A quiet gentleman with a generous heart, Craig Gaul was a loving son, kind-hearted, and helpful to everyone in his world. A man with deep Christian convictions, Craig was quiet about his faith – yet faithful in prayer.
Craig passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2024 in his West Virginia home of natural causes. He was 55.
Born February 26, 1969 in Mansfield, Ohio, he was raised in Lexington, Ohio where he played Little League baseball and was graduated from Lexington High School in 1987. The year he studied electronics at Pioneer Joint Vocational School and the degree in software engineering he earned from DeVry University served him well, as Craig moved on to work with Astra Zeneca Pharmaceuticals the past 15 years, most recently as Principle Engineer.
Craig enjoyed bowling, and sci-fi and action movies, but his canine Basenji companion Kayla garnered more of his attention.
Described as “a fantastic storyteller”, he will be remembered as a sweet spirit – one of the good guys – of whom “no one ever said an ill word”.
He is survived by his parents Charles T. “Chuck” and Helen (Zimmerman) Gaul of Lexington; aunts, uncles, and cousins including a cousin who was a cherished friend Rachael Arneson of Lexington.
He was preceded in death by his sister Cindy Marie Gaul.
The Gaul family will receive guests Friday, April 5, 2024 from 12 Noon to 2 p.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home, 2553 Lexington Avenue, Mansfield, OH, where his funeral service will immediately follow at 2 p.m. Pastor Terry Garrett will officiate. Burial will follow in Lexington Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Craig’s memory to BRAT, Basenji Rescue and Transport basenjirescue.org/ and may be made at the funeral home.
