Teddy Shoemaker, 75, of Mansfield died Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at The Good Shepherd in Ashland. He was born April 8, 1938 in Olive Hill, KY. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Teddy was a member of Amvets 26 of Mansfield and the Eagles and the Moose of Galion. He enjoyed fishing, especially for catfish, and spent many hours working on vehicles. A true jokester, he enjoyed making everyone laugh with his jokes, comments, and singing. Teddy was an avid card player and along with his wife, Nancy, they were an unstoppable pair at Euchre. Above all, he was a loving man to his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Nancy (Chew) Shoemaker; children, Chuck Shoemaker, Russ (Melody) Stevens, and Mike (Lisa) Stevens, all of Mansfield and Carla (Joe) Angeletti of Utica; brothers and sisters, Sara Mertz, Fay Perry, James (Rose) Shoemaker, and Eugene (Cora) Shoemaker; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bill, Lonnie, Russell, Elza, and Robert.

Friends may call Monday, July 8, 2013 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Diamond St. Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Oakie Evans. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Wappner Funeral Directors.
