Karen A. Walker, 51, of Crestline, died Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at her residence after a long battle with cancer and diabetes.
Karen was born in Crestline on January 7, 1964 to the late Karie and Barbara (James) Walker Sr. She is survived by her step mother, Bettie R. (Pace) Walker and her mother-in-law Frankie Mae Brown both of Mansfield.
Karen was a member of the First Baptist Church, Crestline. She volunteered at the Crestline Assistance Ministry Program (C.A.M.P.) office on a daily basis. She also volunteered with Relay for Life since she was 36 years old. Karen lived for her children and grandchildren. She loved to travel and play bingo.
In addition to her step mother and mother-in-law, she is survived by her daughter, Benetia Walker, Louisville, KY, her son, Charles Brown & Laura Lawhun, Crestline, three grandchildren; Za’Kiya Sizemore, Zayr’Eon Ferguson, Jaleesa Brown, her brothers and sisters, Karie Walker Jr., Crestline, Carrie Bledsoe, Columbus, Jackie Harris, Louisville, KY, Kevin Keith, Crestline, Benita Melton, Sonja McCrary, Regina McCrary, Darrell Bledsoe, all of Mansfield, Nichole Johnson and John Walker, both of Louisville, KY, nieces, nephews and a host of cousins.
Friends may call Wednesday, July 1, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 212 E. Livingston Ave, Crestline. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at First Baptist Church, Crestline, with Rev. James Banks officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Crestline.
