Dwayne C. Toney, 54, of Crestline, died Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at his home due to natural causes.
Dwayne was born in Crestline on March 14, 1961 to his parents Carl W. and Linda P. (Bailey) Toney.
Dwayne graduated from North Central Technical College and was employed for many years as the Manager of Walden Book Stores. Dwayne was a member of the Big Brothers Big Sisters and Science Fiction Book Clubs. He was an avid reader from childhood, there was rarely a day that went by that he was not deep into one of his many books. He was also an avid comic book and science fiction fanatic. Growing up he was always excited to get to Walkers newsstand to get his hands on the newest edition of The Amazing Spiderman. Dwayne also loved the outdoors and taking walks through nature preserves and hunting for morel mushrooms. He loved spending time with his family and will be greatly missed by them.
In addition to his loving parents, Dwayne is survived by his brothers Steven (fiancé, Venet Ireland) Toney of Granville and Gregory Toney of Crestline, a sister Sherry (Steve) Johnson of Crestline, his nephews Christopher and Quintin Toney, Kevin Toney, Kaleb and Jakeb Johnson and niece Britney Johnson.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. The Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, 223 W. Main St., Crestline is honored to serve the family of Dwayne C. Toney.
Memorial contributions may be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters in care of the funeral home.
