Sharon L. (Arnett) Griffith, 62, of Mansfield, passed away at her home on May 18, 2015.
She was born on July 19, 1952 in Ashland, Kentucky. Sharon graduated from Madison High School, where she proudly named the school paper “The Rampage”. She was a great artist with many of her drawings and paintings winning numerous awards and being in exhibitions throughout the world. She was an avid gardener with notable canning skills and was a perfectionist at making peanut butter fudge.
Sharon graduated from NCTC with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She worked for 20 years at MedCentral Childcare, where she was often referred to as “the child whisperer”. Prior to MedCentral, she was employed at Jesse Beer Childcare for many years.
She is survived by her loving partner, Doane Davidson; her beloved Myha; son, Jamie (Stacy) Griffith; very special niece, Shannon Woodson; Marshall and Scott Davidson; step-mother, Karen Arnett; brother, George “Butch” Arnett; sister, Terrie (Michael) Zumbro; brother, Robert (Rose) Arnett; grandchildren, Taylor Martell, McKayla Griffith, and Kane Griffith; step-grandchildren, Hannah, Libby, Katie, Cody, Ariana, Brandon, and Zane; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Kathy Boyles, Joyce Hamilton, and Mary Ann Mellor; and many good friends at both childcare facilities.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Jan Rose Arnett; father George Arnett; Carl Wirght; Dick Boales; sister-in-law, Deb Arnett; and niece, Taylor Zumbro.
Memorial celebration of her life will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, June 12, 2015 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, LTD., 1106 Park Ave. East, Mansfield, officiated by her brother, Robert Arnett.
