MANSFIELD, Ohio–Local Modern Woodmen of America members in Richland County are planning a fundraiser for the Area Agency on Aging. Modern Woodmen will sponsor the fundraiser on May 20 for the Area Agency on Aging to install a flag pole and lighting at Hawkins Corner, Ontario in honor of veterans.

Plans for the fundraiser include an omelet breakfast prepared by local celebrities which features omelets, pancakes, muffins, fruit, coffee and juice. The event will be held on Wednesday May 20 from 7-10 a.mm at Hawkins Corner (Training and Events Center), 2132 Park Ave West, Ontario.

There will be a free will donation. The money raised will be matched by Modern Woodmen’s home office, up to $2,500, through the fraternal benefit society’s Matching Fund Program and will be used to purchase and install the flag pole.

The Matching Fund Program offers Modem Woodmen members nationwide the chance to show their support for a community cause, organization or individual in need by holding fundraisers. These fundraising projects contribute $10.8 million to community needs nationwide each year.

“With this project, every dollar truly counts,” said Greg Boyce, Financial Representative with Modern Woodmen. “It’s exciting to be involved in a project that is so important to our community.”

Coordinated by local Modern Woodmen members, chapters provide opportunities to take part in social activities and community service projects to meet local needs.
