ASHLAND — An Ashland man was arrested, a shotgun and suspected drugs were seized after a multi-agency raid on a city residence Thursday, according to police.

Kyle Elswick, 22, of Ashland, was arrested at the scene of the incident, taken to Ashland County Jail on Thursday and charged Friday with drug trafficking, police said.

A press release stated that just before 3 p.m. on May 17, Ashland Police, along with APD Detectives assigned to the METRICH Drug Task Force, made contact with occupants of a vehicle at 1126 East Main Street (Lincoln Terrace Apartments). The stop led detectives and officers to apartment 37 where they seized a shotgun, suspected heroin, drug paraphernalia, marijuana and evidence related to drug trafficking.

Ashland County Children Services was notified and also responded to the scene.

The investigation was initiated in part by complaints from the community of suspected drug trafficking at that location. Residents are encouraged to call 419-52CRIME or email www.metrich.com information regarding suspected drug activity.
