MANSFIELD — The METRICH region collected 1,726.5 pounds of unused or expired prescription medication over the weekend as part of the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) National Prescription Take Back Initiative.
On April 28, 2018 the METRICH Enforcement Unit along with the Mansfield Division of Police, the Richland County Sheriff’s Office, the Bellville Police Department and the Shelby Police Department all participated in the national event.
In addition to Richland County law enforcement agencies, numerous other law enforcement agencies from the METRICH region also participated. Community participation and commitment by all law enforcement agencies in the METRICH region was key to the success of this event.
Below is a breakdown of all agencies that participated in this event.
Richland County Agencies: Mansfield Division of Police – 134 pounds, Richland County Sheriff’s Office – 84 pounds, Bellville Police Department 58 pounds, Shelby Police Department – 77 pounds.
Ashland County Agencies: Ashland County Sheriff’s Office – 240 pounds.
Crawford County Agencies: Crawford County Sheriff’s Office – 62.5 pounds, Bucyrus Police Department- 54 pounds, Galion Police Department – 73 pounds.
Hancock County Agencies: Hancock County Sheriff’s Office – 116 pounds.
Huron County Agencies: Huron County Sheriff’s Office – 19 pounds, Norwalk Police Department – 99 pounds, Willard Police Department – 50 pounds.
Knox County Agencies: Mount Vernon Police Department – 66 pounds.
Marion County Agencies: Marion Police Department/Marion County Sheriff’s Office – 192 pounds.
Morrow County Agencies: Morrow County Sheriff’s Office – 153 pounds.
Seneca County Agencies: Seneca County Sheriff’s Office- 100 pounds, Fostoria Police Department – 49 pounds, Tiffin Police Department- 28 pounds.
Wyandot County Agencies: Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office – 53 pounds, Carey Police Department- 19 pounds.
