Kimberly VanBremen, 57, of Ashland, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at her home. Born January 14, 1958 in Mansfield, she was the daughter of George and Ruth (Walters) Rice. Kim was very outgoing and full of life and had a laugh that was contagious to all those around her. She loved the outdoors, especially camping, swimming, golfing, and taking motorcycle rides with her brother and fiance. An avid coffee drinker, Kim enjoyed crocheting, listening to Kid Rock and watching her favorite teams the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Longhorns, and The Ohio State Buckeyes. Most of all she was a natural care giver and her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy, especially her granddaugher, Emma Webb who was her whole world.

She is survived by her fiance, Larry Finley; children, Randy Webb of North Carolina and Wendy Webb (Mandy Pearce) of New Mexico; parents, Ruth and George Rice of Texas; siblings, Tamyra Steiner of Ohio, and Hope (Kevin) Grissom and Troy (Jaymi) Rice, both of Texas; 12 1/2 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Ashley and Taylor Grissom of Texas, DeJay (Laurie) Webb of New Mexico, and Charity Rice and Cory (Shandi) Webb, both of Ashland; several great nieces and nephews; step daughters, Jennifer Finley of Columbus and Joanne Finley of Mansfield; goddaughter, Nikki Briggs of Ashland; godchildren, Todd Lawrence of North Carolina, and Bobby Lawrence and Shaunette Lawrence, both of Delaware; and many loving friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David VanBremen; nephew, Dustin W. Webb; brother-in-law, Ryan Steiner; and both maternal and paternal grandparents.

Friends may call Tuesday, May 26, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. at the Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 308 Claremont Ave., Ashland. Burial will be held in Chestnut Grove Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Wendy Webb to help defray funeral costs. There will be a benefit dinner held on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 in Kim’s honor. The time and place of the benefit will be posted on the website as soon as they become available.
