Beatrice "Bea" Waddell

Beatrice “Bea” Waddell, 85, of Mansfield, died April 12, 2015. Born October 4, 1929 in Beulah, Mississippi, she was the daughter of Gerard and Barbara L. (King) Devall. An outgoing, friendly lady, Bea was a true people person who enjoyed doing field service work. She loved her grandchildren very much, and had lovingly raised three of them along with her own children. A wonderful hostess, her house was never empty. In her free time, Bea like gardening, cooking, and cleaning. Bea was an active member of North Congregation Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. 

Surviving are her son, Edward Lee (Joy) Waddell of San Antonio, TX, Robert James Waddell of Columbus, OH, Walter James (Janis) Waddell Sr. of Florida, and Leonard T. Waddell Sr. of Columbus, OH; daughters, Edna Waddell-Shelley of Arlington, TX, Deborah K. Farris of Rock Hill, SC, Pamela K. Waddell of Columbus, OH, Patricia Hope Waddell of Columbus, OH, and Stacey (James) Waddell-Lane of Columbus, OH; twenty five grandchildren; forty eight great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; brother, Johnny (Dutchess) Hall of Mississippi; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, Bea was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Waddell Sr.; daughter, Oneida Devall; brothers, Willie Horn, John Amos, Albert Scott, and Eddie Devall; and sisters, Theresa “Goldie” Devall and Maude Devall. 

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield, conducted by Floyd Davis. Family and friends are invited to visit for one hour prior to the service, from 10-11 a.m. Burial will be held at a later date in Mansfield Cemetery.
