Hazel Dorothy Cornish

Hazel Dorothy Cornish, 91, of Mansfield, died March 29, 2015. Born June 6, 1923 in Mansfield, she was the daughter of Raymond and Daisy (Stumph) Daily. Hazel attended Chesterville High School and then went to work at North Electric in Galion for several years. She later worked for National Ring and Leather until they went out of business, and finally the Madison Board of Elections. When she married her husband, Hazel became a homemaker. Her many grandchildren truly were her pride and joy. In her free time, Hazel enjoyed crocheting and playing the organ.

Surviving are her husband of 39 years, Jack Cornish; step-children, Paul Cornish of Tallahassee, FL and Sharon Snyder of Mansfield; grandchildren, Shelly (Jeff) Crawford, Daniel Snyder, Adam Snyder, Benjamin Cornish, Jeffrey Cornish, Elton Carraway, and Rachel Kemp; adopted granddaughter, Haley Shepherd; twelve great-grandchildren; brothers, Ernest Daily and Ralph Daily; and a multitude of nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 7 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Road, Ontario, conducted by Rev. George Reece. Family and friends are invited to visit for two hours prior to the service, from 5-7 p.m. A private burial will be held in Mansfield Memorial park at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
