Dennis "Punkin" Hinkle

Dennis C. “Punkin” Hinkle of Perrysville, passed away Monday, February 16, 2015. He was 80 years old. Dennis was born June 10, 1934, in Eccles, West Virginia. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was the owner of the Pumpkin Patch.

Dennis is survived by his wife of 47 years, Debra Northrup Hinkle; daughter, Anita Reid of WV; son, Dennis “Woody” (Misti) Northrup of Bellville; five sisters, Binie Steagull of FL, Doris Weaver of CA, Wanda Lee (Gerry) Beaumont of CA, Arletha (Bob) Sweeney of NC, Carol Diciuccio of NC; and a sister-in-law, Sybil Hinkle of OH. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Adam (Alicia) Sipes of WV, James (Jackie) Atterson of GA, David (Brei) Atterson of WV and Hayden Northrup of Bellville; four great-grandchildren, Tanner and Presley Sipes and Abby and Conner Atterson, all of WV; and many loved nieces and nephews throughout the United States.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Belva Treadway Croft and Homer Hinkle, formerly of West Virginia; a son, Dennis Hinkle, formerly of Mansfield; a granddaughter, Stephanie Sipes, formerly of West Virginia; and three brothers, Victor (Juanita) Hinkle, formerly of Mansfield, Eugene (Nyla) Hinkle, formerly of West Virginia and Dallas Hinkle, formerly of Ohio.

A Gathering of family and friends celebrating Punkin’s life will be held Friday, Feb. 20, 2015, from noon to 4 p.m. at Camp Nuhop, Township Road 2916, Perrysville, Ohio. Everyone is welcome at Punkin’s house to continue the celebration afterward. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family.
