Dwain passed away Wednesday morning November 26, 2014 in OhioHealth MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. He was 68.
Born June 9, 1946 in Mansfield to Donald L. and Dortha Mae (Riggle) Tilton, he was graduated from Clear Fork High School in 1965. He proudly served with the US Army in Vietnam and returned to study computer technology at Southern Ohio College’s northeast campus in Akron.
A young lady from his high school days, Connie Matthews, caught sight of the “Tilton Twin” and their 44 years of marriage began on May 23, 1970.
Dwain worked in computer services on mainframes, first with Shelby Mutual Insurance Company, a firm he served 28 years. He later worked with Cooper’s in Mt. Vernon and retired from Ohio Mutual Insurance Group in Bucyrus. Following his retirement, he liked having the time to spend with his brothers.
He attended Impact Worship Center.
Dwain was all about family: “All I care about is being with my family.” And he considered his Red 2008 Corvette Z-06 part of the family! He liked sitting around a campfire with them and roasting a few dogs, but when it came to camping said “I’ve slept outside enough in the Army.” A good day was spent with the grandkids, fishing, or showing animals at the Bellville Street Fair or Knox County Fair, or riding 4-wheelers with family.
He is survived by his wife Connie Tilton; daughters Ticia (Jeff) Bailey of Butler and Dawn (Eric) Wolfgang of Bellville; grandchildren; Gavin, Aubrey and Payton Bailey and Gage, Sydney, Grace, Savanna and Saige Wolfgang; brothers James (June) Tilton of Bellville, his twin Blain (Becky) Tilton of Butler and Ronald (Joyce) Tilton of Bellville; a sister-in-law Betty Boyer of Port Richey, FL and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother Larry Tilton.
The Tilton family will receive friends Sunday, Nov. 30, 2014 from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home, where his funeral service will be held Monday at 1 p.m. Pastors Mike Cloud and Patrick Bailey will officiate. Military honors will follow. Burial will follow in Bellville Cemetery.
Memorial contributions to Impact Worship Center or Jefferson Township-Bellville Rescue Squad may be made at the funeral home.
