Lawrence W. “Larry” Dawson II, 67, of Ontario passed away Monday, Jan. 24, 2022 at The University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Hospital after complications from Leukemia.
Born April 29, 1954 in Augusta, GA, he was the son of Lawrence Wayne and Laura Jane (Kaunike) Dawson of Rawlings, MD.
Larry graduated from Galion High School in 1972. He received his Bachelor’s degree and his Master’s degree from Bowling Green State University.
He taught for the Galion City School District for 37 years, retiring in 2013. Larry loved his parents, siblings, children and grandchildren and considered them the center of his life.
He is survived by his sons, Kyle (Sara) Dawson of Lexington, KY and Kevin (Amber) Dawson of Ontario; five grandchildren, Connor James, Ellie Arniese, Mason Cole, Laura Jane and John Lawrence Dawson; sister, Linda Dawson-Taylor of Galion; brothers Jeffrey (Cathie) Dawson of Mansfield and David (Georgia) Dawson of Dublin and three nieces, Katie, Kelly and Sarah.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, February 4, 2022 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4, 2022 with Deacon Greg Kirk officiating.
