COLUMBUS — Ohio House Speaker Bob Cupp (R-Lima) appointed State Rep. Marilyn John (R-Richland County) as Vice-Chair of the State and Local Government Committee for the 134th General Assembly.
“Although it’s my first term of office, I believe that my years of experience as a public leader has prepared me to serve on this committee alongside Chairman Wiggam and my colleagues,” John said. “I want my constituents of Richland County to know that I will be representing them over the next two years on these committees and if they have any questions or concerns I encourage them to reach out to my office.”
John was also selected for the Families, Aging and Human Services and Higher Education and Career Readiness Committees.
John acknowledges that her prior experience in public service will be an added strength in the General Assembly. In 2009, she was elected Mayor of the City of Shelby serving until becoming a Richland County Commissioner in 2015.
