State Senator Larry Obhof (R–Medina) released the following statement in response to the monthly state unemployment report, which shows that Ohio’s unemployment rate in May fell to 5.5%:

“Over the past several years, the Ohio Senate has worked to improve the business climate and help get Ohioans back to work. Ohio’s unemployment rate is now at its lowest level since April 2007, before the recession began. While I am glad that we added thousands of new jobs last month, too many people are still struggling. It is important that we continue to follow pro-growth policies that will keep Ohio moving forward.”

Senator Obhof represents the 22nd Ohio Senate District, which encompasses all of Medina, Ashland and Richland counties as well as portions of Holmes County. He serves as the Senate Majority Whip. For more information, please visit www.ohiosenate.gov/obhof
