CenturyLink, Inc. designated the week of May 19 as “Technician Appreciation Week” to thank its more than 10,800 technicians nationwide who work night and day, often through inclement weather, to serve the company’s residential and business customers.
“CenturyLink’s technicians – the men and women who visit our customers’ homes and businesses to install or repair services – are a unique group of employees,” said Karen Puckett, CenturyLink chief operating officer.
“As the face of our Company in our communities, they are well known for their commitment to our customers and to ensuring we deliver the highest quality of service and network reliability. They are called upon to do their jobs regardless of outside conditions, sometimes in the immediate aftermath of extreme situations – hurricanes, ice storms, forest fires, and floods – and their focus is always on doing their best for our customers. We want them to know how much we appreciate the work they do by recognizing them throughout this week for their outstanding commitment to our customers and their value to our company.”
Events for the week included celebrations at the technician work centers and opportunities for other CenturyLink employees to express their appreciation.
There are more than 314 technicians in the Ohio market. During the past year, through financial and volunteer investments, Ohio technicians supported education, United Way, social service organizations, food drives, culture and arts, and volunteered at many community events. The technicians worked tirelessly to keep customers in service during severe storms. They live and work and raise their families in Ohio and help make the state a better place to live and work.
“We’re proud to honor our technicians who demonstrate their dedication to our customers and communities every day,” said Kelly Blay, vice president and general manager for CenturyLink in Ohio. “We are grateful for their efforts and appreciate their commitment to their work.”
