ASHLAND — A routine traffic stop on Sunday night turned out to be far more than that for the Ashland Police Department.
The Ashland Police reported the stop took place on Claremont Avenue on Feb. 3. In their subsequent investigation, officers pursued a lead to the 400 block of Sandusky Street.
A search warrant, signed by Municipal Court Judge John Good, was executed by Ashland Police Officers and Detectives assigned to the METRICH Drug Task Force.
According to authorities, the search recovered a felony bulk amount of high grade marijuana as well as nearly $18,000 in cash. Also seized was a sizable amount of suspected “Dabs” a high concentration of the active ingredient in marijuana, THC. Officers also collected evidence related to drug trafficking.
Ashland Police said Robert Kircher, 23, was served a complaint for Trafficking in Marijuana on Feb. 6.
