Robert Seagrave, 87, of Mansfield, passed away Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018, at his home.

He was born Jan. 16, 1931, in Buffalo, New York, one of ten children of the late Arthur and Mabel (Foster) Seagrave.

He was a proud veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. He continued to show his patriotism as a former Post Commander of Harvey D. Morin VFW Post #2940 in West Seneca, New York and State Commander of New York from 2000-2001. Always the leader in any situation, Robert retired as a Business Agent for the Teamsters Union and had also worked as a truck driver for several years.

Robert was athletically gifted and was a very good baseball player in his younger years. He continued in sports throughout his life with bowling being one of his passions. He was a member of several leagues and held numerous positions in the leagues. In his free time, he enjoyed watching sports of all kinds, especially hockey.

He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Samson Seagrave; son, Robert Seagrave, of Williamsport, Pennsylvania; daughter, Michele (Stephen) Castle, of Mansfield; five grandchildren, Thomas James Lenahan III, of Shelby, Amanda Kenyon, of Florida, Robert Seagrave Jr., Erik Seagrave and Ryan Seagrave, all of Williamsport, Pennsylvnia; and two great-grandchildren, Thomas James Lenahan IV and Connor Lenahan. Robert is also survived by a brother, Ronald Seagrave, of Florida; sister, Betty Ann Seagrave, of Buffalo, New York; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.

There will be no services or visitation at this time. Wappner Cremation Center is privileged to serve the family.
