Marvin Wesley Thomas, 71, of Galion, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on June 22, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on August 12, 1954, in Nevada, Ohio, Marvin was the son of the late Ralph and Mary Thomas. He lived a life marked by hard work, kindness, laughter, and a deep love for his family and friends.

Marvin retired from the City of Galion after many years of dedicated service as a Water Treatment Operator. He took great pride in his work and the role he played in serving his community.

Marvin was preceded in death by his first wife, Jennie Thomas, who passed away from cancer in 1994.

On July 22, 2010, Marvin married the love of his later years, Thelma Thomas. Their marriage was built on devotion, friendship, and unwavering commitment. Thelma remained faithfully by his side through every challenge and was a true and dedicated partner until his very last moments.

Anyone who knew Marvin knew he never met a stranger. He had a remarkable ability to make people feel welcome and was known for his warm smile, quick wit, and infectious sense of humor. A natural jokester, he loved making others laugh and finding joy in everyday moments. He especially enjoyed singing karaoke, spending time in his garden, and creating memories with family and friends.

More than anything, Marvin loved his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend whose kindness, generosity, and laughter touched countless lives. His legacy will live on in the stories shared, the lessons taught, and the love he gave so freely.

Marvin passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by the family he loved so deeply. Though he will be greatly missed, his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Marvin is survived by his beloved wife, Thelma Thomas; his son, Brian Thomas; daughters Anna (Michael) Bell, Sherry (Brian) Nolen, Angie (Sean) Bacon, and Jennifer (Shawn) Whitt; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; extended family members; and many cherished friends.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am July 27, 2026 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where funeral services will follow at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
