John Curtice “Curt” Bowman, 79, of Loudonville died Saturday morning, March 25, 2017 in Colonial Manor Health Care Center, Loudonville following a courageous battle with leukemia.
Curt was born April 13, 1937 in Perrysville and was the son of the late Thomas Earl and Edith Bell (Leddy) Bowman. He was a Loudonville/Perrysville resident all of his life and a 38-year employee of Mansfield Plumbing Products, retiring in 1995.
After his retirement, Curt drove truck for Panther Expediting Company for three years. He enjoyed bluegrass and traditional country music, playing his banjo, and travelling, especially to Nashville, Tennessee and Branson, Missouri.
Curt was an excellent woodworker and recently finished restoring a 1989 Chrysler LeBaron convertible and a John Deere garden tractor. He was a member of the National Rifle Association.
Curt is survived by his wife, Judith D. (Knox) Bowman, whom he married April 2, 1995; two daughters: Jackie (Tom) Franz, of Mansfield, and Jamie Reeder, of Loudonville; one step-daughter, Lori Ann (Norman) Brenneman, of Shreve; five grandchildren: Jared (Olivia Piper) Carder, Ryan (Tiffany) Carder, Dustin (Susan) Carder, Darren Carder and Garrett Reeder; four step-grandchildren: Jason (Julie) Woodhull, Corey Himes, Tia Himes, and Douglas Ott; seven great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a step-son, Allen Woodhull; seven brothers: Charles, Rex, William, Robert, Jackson, Doyle, and Max Bowman; and four sisters: Helen Marshall, Loretta Lazo, Norma Jean LeMaitre, and Mildred “Midge” Miller.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning, March 29, 2017 at 11 a.m. in Lindsey Funeral Home, Loudonville with Pastor David A. Stutzman officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Perrysville. Friends may call on Tuesday evening, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
