Hubert D. “Hugh” Stacy, age 90, of Lexington, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2026 in OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. He was born April 30, 1936 in Morehead, Kentucky to the late Oll and Iva Kinder Stacy.

Hugh was a man who found joy in the simple and steady gifts of life. Above all else, he treasured his family and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought him endless pride and happiness through the years. His life was guided by a quiet and unwavering faith. As a devoted member of Pleasant Grove Community Church, Hugh cherished his daily time with the Lord, often beginning each morning with scripture and a devotional.  He took every opportunity to witness to others about Jesus Christ.

On November 27, 1955, Hugh married the love of his life, Betty J. Thompson. Together they shared 56 years of marriage marked by devotion, faith, and companionship until Betty’s passing on February 5, 2011. In their younger years, Hugh and Betty enjoyed traveling and taking cruises together, creating memories that remained dear to him throughout his life.

Hugh retired from the sales department at the Corpad Company in Mansfield after many years of dedicated service. At home, he enjoyed the comfort of familiar routines and could often be found watching Fox News or an old Hallmark movie. He appreciated life’s quieter moments and carried himself with a gentle, humble spirit that made others feel at ease.  He enjoyed playing horseshoes, Sudoku puzzles, reading multiple books at one time on his iPad.  His mind stayed sharp and he loved making people smile.

What a man of God! What a difference this Godly man made in the lives of so many. There are so many things he has taught us but the most important is this: There is always life and hope and joy in the midst of suffering and that is what makes God so very good. His greatest wish is for all of his children and grandchildren to spend all of eternity with him and mommy in our Father’s house.

He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Pam Foss, Vickie (Larry) Smith, Lorie Stacy, Mark (Claudia) Stacy, and Victor (Misty) Billheimer; his grandchildren, Kyle Foss, Karrie Jo (Andrew) Davisson, Kaleb (Emily) Foss, Kendall (Brian) Cox, Joshua (Alicia) Adam, Travis Clark, Tyler Clark, Jacob (Cassidy Stidham) Stacy, Heather (Alex) Vladimir, Buddy (Susi) Smith, Jessica Smith, Rachael Becker, Teddy Becker, Ben Smith and Zoe (Timothy) Toro; his great-grandchildren, Kolten, Mason, Kylea, Carter, Cole, Samuel, Grant, Benjamin, Claire, Rowan, Reed, Owen, J.J., Amity, Dane, Jiloh, Hayden, Ginny Beth, Trey, Spencer, T.J., Shelby, Kendall, Griffin; Tatum, Raelynn, Oaklee and their mother, Desiree Kilgore ; his brother, Roy (Glenda) Stacy; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
