In Loving Memory of Brooks
Our precious baby boy, Brooks Bryant Walker Mckenzie, was born sleeping on October 3rd, 2026.
Though his time with us was far too short, Brooks was deeply loved from the very beginning. He was dreamed of, prayed for, cherished, and loved beyond words. His tiny life made an everlasting mark on the hearts of everyone who was blessed to know him.
Brooks will forever be loved and remembered by his parents, Cassie and Jonathan; his big bro, Bentley; his grandparents, Heather, Brian, Shanna and John; his aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless family members and friends who loved him before they ever had the chance to hold him.
Brooks was preceded in death by his beloved aunt, Hailey, who went to Heaven before him. While our hearts ache that we never had the chance to watch Brooks and Hailey know one another here on Earth, we find comfort in imagining Hailey there to welcome her sweet nephew with open arms. There are no words to fully express the heartbreak of saying goodbye to a baby who should have had a lifetime ahead of him. We will always wonder who Brooks would have become, what his laugh would have sounded like, what his smile would have looked like, and all the memories we should have been able to make with him.
But we will never wonder whether he was loved.
He was, and always will be, so very loved.
Although Brooks could not stay with us, he will forever be a part of our family. His life, however brief, mattered. His presence mattered. His love mattered. And his memory will remain in our hearts for all the days of our lives.
Until we meet again, sweet Brooks.
You were loved before we met you,
you are loved beyond goodbye,
and you will be loved forever.
Rest peacefully, sweet baby. Auntie Bug has you now.
A private memorial service will be held for Friends and Family on October 11th, 2026 at 1:00pm
