MOUNT GILEAD – An Ashley woman was killed and another person was hurt in a two-vehicle crash on Sept. 4 in Morrow County, according to the Mount Gilead Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Amanda Pickens, 38, of Ashley, was pronounced deceased at the scene by Morrow
County EMS.
Tyler Weaver, 30, of Cardington, was injured as a result of the crash and was transported to Morrow County Hospital.
The incident took place at approximately 8:02 p.m., in Westfield Township of Morrow County.
The Patrol reported that Weaver was traveling southwest on U.S. Route 42 on a 2000 Harley Davidson Electra Glide. William Stover, 47, of Wheelersburg, was traveling eastbound on County Road 25 in a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu.
According to the Patrol, Stover failed to yield at the stop sign at the intersection of County Road 25 and U.S. 42 and was struck by Weaver. A passenger on the Harley Davidson, who was identified as Pickens, was killed.
Neither occupant of the Harley Davidson was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Morrow County Sheriff’s
Office, Morrow County EMS, A’Rays Towing, the Morrow County Prosecutor’s Office,
and the Morrow County Coroner. The crash remains under investigation.
