Billy Ray Dotson, age 90 of Lucas, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born on September 22, 1935, in Harlan, Kentucky, to the late Quill and May Dotson, and in 1969, he married the love of his life, Sharon.
Billy Ray worked for General Motors in Tool & Die and Steel Storage for 33 years. He was also a member of the Salvation Army and a car club, the Trojans.
He is survived by his children Deano (Felicia) Dotson, Kevin (Heather) Ramey, and Keith Ramey; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and his good friend, Fred Martin.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Dotson; his parents Quill and May Dotson; his daughter Pamela Sue Dotson; his stepchildren Tim Ramey and Terry Reedy; his siblings Jack Dotson and Virgil Dotson; his good friends Norman, Geno, and Lou; and his faithful dog Lady.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield. Services will take place at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mansfield Cemetery.
The family would also like to extend a special thank-you to Jessica, Marti, and Tonya at SouthernCare Hospice for the wonderful care Billy Ray received, and to Valerie for the tender care she provided.
