Ida “Adelene” Margaret (Reagan) Cassady walked into the arms of her Jesus on September 3, 2026, she spent her last day surrounded by family and the caring staff at Altercare who cherished her “sassy southern attitude.”

Born June 16, 1938, in Pikeville, KY, to Therman Reagan and Ella Coffman, Ida was raised by her great-grandmother, “Maw Allen” (Polly Allen), and later her great-aunt, “Mommy” (Rhoda Scott). She married the love of her life, Paul Cassady Sr, on December 23, 1961. They settled in Galion, Ohio, building a life rooted in faith, hard work, and generosity.

Though a humble homemaker who cleaned local businesses and homes, Ida’s true calling was hospitality. A faithful, lifelong member of Ark Church (formerly First Assembly of God/Crossway), she served in countless ministries, opened her home to traveling evangelists, and hosted legendary Sunday dinners. No matter how crowded her home became, she always had enough food and room to make everyone feel safe and loved.

Ida was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Sr.; son, James “Scott”; son-in-law, Donald Crowder; her parents; siblings, James and Patricia; and sisters-in-law, Goldie and Shirley (Lou).

She is survived by her children, Candy Crowder, Paul “Hop” (Connie) Jr., Ella “Jane” (Eric) Nickelson, and Tom (Lesley); daughter-in-law, Marsha; 16 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and a large extended family who affectionately called her “Nanny.”

Now whole, healed, and at peace with her Savior, Ida leaves behind a legacy of selfless love, warmth, and faith.
