Clifford “Kip” Lewis Macklin, 73, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2026, at JAG of Mansfield. He was born on February 17, 1953, to the late Charles and Hope (Thompson) Macklin in Delaware, Ohio.
He graduated from Galion High School in 1972 and went on to build a long and dedicated career at Galion Komatsu Dresser, where he worked for more than 20 years until the company’s closure.
Kip married the love of his life, Deborah “Deb” (Murphy) Macklin, on February 20, 1971. Together, they shared many years filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories until her passing on February 13, 2025.
Kip enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, especially spending time on the water boating, working on cars, and taking on remodeling projects around the house. He was a hands-on person who took pride in his work and enjoyed keeping busy, always finding something to fix, improve, or work on.
Above all, Kip cherished his beloved wife, Deb. Their love story began in high school, and they remained together throughout the years, sharing a lifetime of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Deb was the love of Kip’s life, and the life they built together was one of his greatest joys.
Left to cherish Kip’s memory are his children, Melissa Stewart of Galion and Aaron (Angela) Macklin of Mansfield; his three grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Kip was preceded in death by his siblings, Jeri Burns, Cathy Davis, and Lynn Sherman, and his son-in-law, Kevin Stewart.
