Audience members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and enjoy an unforgettable evening of live music under the stars. While admission is Pay-What-You-Can, reservations are encouraged and may be made at rentickets.org.

About the Show

Written and directed by Renaissance Artistic Director Michael Thomas, At Last: An Evening with Etta James stars powerhouse vocalist Condrea Mason in a celebration of one of America’s most iconic musical voices.

One of the greatest singers of the twentieth century, Etta James experienced a meteoric rise to fame in the 1960s before personal struggles and legal troubles caused her career to fade from the spotlight. By the early 1980s, recording opportunities had largely disappeared, and she found herself performing in smaller venues. A Grammy Award win in 1994 marked a remarkable comeback, cementing her legacy as one of the most influential voices in American music.

The production traces James’ extraordinary journey through the songs that defined her career, featuring beloved classics including Don’t Get Around Much Anymore, Something’s Got a Hold on Me, Try a Little Tenderness, Trust in Me, Stormy Weather, I’d Rather Go Blind, Sunday Kind of Love, Cry Me a River, Someone to Watch Over Me, Time After Time, and her unforgettable signature hit, At Last.

Joining Mason on stage is an acclaimed live band featuring Alice Bond as musical director and keyboardist, Ed Jonnet on saxophone, Santiago Mason on bass, and Will Jones on drums.

“By far the Renaissance Theatre’s most popular original production to date, At Last: An Evening with Etta James features a tour-de-force by Condrea Mason. Along with local musical greats such as Alice Bond, who also serves as musical director, saxophonist Ed Jonnet, Santiago Mason on bass, and Will Jones on drums, it is an unforgettable evening of some of the greatest music of the 20th century,” said Michael Thomas, writer and director.

The Brickyard performance continues the Renaissance Theatre’s commitment to bringing high-quality performing arts beyond its historic stage and into the heart of downtown Mansfield. By combining exceptional local talent with an inviting outdoor setting, the event offers audiences a unique opportunity to experience live theatre and music in one of the city’s most vibrant public spaces.

Reservations for At Last: An Evening with Etta James are available now at rentickets.org or by calling the Renaissance Box Office at (419) 522-2726, Tuesday through Friday from noon to 5:00 PM.
