Kelley Suzanne Diehl, lovingly known as “Buttercup,” passed away after a brief illness on July 23, 2026, in Cleveland, Ohio, at the age of 64. Born on May 1, 1962, in Loudonville, Ohio, Kelley lived a vibrant and colorful life filled with love, creativity, and joy.

After graduating high school in 1980, Kelley embarked on a career that took her to Dallas, Texas, where she began working for Merrill Lynch. Her dedication and expertise led her to continue her work with Merrill Lynch in Denver, Colorado. Eventually, Kelley returned to her hometown of Loudonville to pursue her entrepreneurial spirit by opening Books, Baubles, and Brew. This beloved establishment became a reflection of Kelley’s warmth and creativity—a place where people could gather and connect.

Kelley had a passion for crafting and stained glass and enjoyed collecting rocks. Her artistic talents and love for creating beautiful things were matched only by her ability to create welcoming spaces and foster meaningful connections. Those who knew Kelley were touched by her generous spirit and the light she brought into their lives.

She is survived by her sister, Stacey R. Diehl of Delmar, Delaware, nephew, Steven G. Diehl of Coronado, California, and two nieces – Ada Anderson and Halley Diehl, both of Columbus, Ohio. Kelley was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph A. and Elizabeth L. Diehl; and her brothers, Lance A. Diehl and Steven T. Diehl.

Kelley will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives she brightened. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her. A Celebration of Life will be held on August 15, 2026, from 04:00 PM to 06:00 PM at VFW Post 8586, 2802 Co. Rd. 917, Perrysville, OH 44864.
