MANSFIELD — Community members, motorcycle enthusiasts and supporters will gather Saturday for a benefit ride and spaghetti dinner organized in support of Mansfield resident James Weiner and his wife, Delaine.

Weiner, a husband, father and grandfather, was diagnosed with Stage 3 T-Cell Lymphoma in August 2024.

After undergoing six rounds of chemotherapy, he achieved remission, but suffered a relapse six months later. His only chance for a cure required a life-saving stem cell transplant.

Due to the intensive treatment, a lengthy hospital stay and an extended recovery process following the transplant, Weiner has been unable to work since February.

Facing an uncertain return-to-work timeline and lacking short-term disability coverage, the family is enduring substantial financial strain.

The fundraising event features both a scenic motorcycle ride through the Mohican region and an evening dinner, with all proceeds aimed at relieving the couple’s financial burdens as Weiner focuses on his recovery.

Registration for the motorcycle ride begins at 10 a.m. at Ohio Shine, located at 126 N. Franklin Ave. Complimentary coffee and donuts will be served to participants, who will also receive an advance look at basket raffle prizes before kickstands go up at noon.

The route will take riders along scenic roads in the Mohican area, incorporating two planned rest stops at the local American Legion and the Mohican Lodge.

Following the ride, the event transitions to a spaghetti dinner held at FOP Lodge 32, located off Fourth Street at 315 Concord Ave. The hall opens at 3 p.m., with dinner served from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The menu includes spaghetti, fresh salad, bread and desserts. The dinner venue will also feature music, a free photo booth, a 50/50 cash drawing and a basket raffle showcasing various prizes. Paved parking will be available at the lodge, with overflow parking provided at the adjacent Cypress School paved lot.

Participation in the ride costs $25 for single riders and $40 for riders carrying a passenger, both options including dinner.

For community members wishing to attend the meal only, dinner plates are available for $15, with no motorcycle participation required.]
