COLUMBUS — State Rep. Marilyn John, R-Richland County, has been appointed to the National Conference of State Legislatures Executive Committee.

The 63-member committee includes 41 legislators, 21 legislative staff members and one nonvoting ex officio member representing international affiliates.

The panel oversees the organization by directing strategy and guiding policy and finances.

“It is an honor to serve alongside Speaker Huffman and House Clerk Young on the Executive Committee for NCSL,” John said.

“NCSL has given me great guidance during my time in the legislature and I’m excited to serve in this new role.”

Founded in 1975, the nonpartisan organization serves members and staff of state legislatures across the country.
