Myra Sue Myers, 79, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Wedgewood Estates. Myra was born on May 1, 1947, to the late Ralph and Betty (Garrett) Myers in Oberlin, Ohio.
Myra graduated from Firelands High School with the Class of 1965 before embarking on an impressive educational journey. She earned an Associate of Arts degree from Lorain County Community College, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from The Ohio State University. She later completed a Master of Arts degree at Central Michigan University. Throughout her career, Myra worked as a clinical laboratory scientist, where she applied her knowledge and dedication to serving others in the medical field.
Myra lived a life defined by curiosity, learning, and service. An avid fan of science fiction, she found great enjoyment in both books and movies that sparked her imagination and sense of wonder. She was a devoted member of Ontario United Methodist Church, where her faith and church family were an important part of her life.
Throughout her distinguished career as a clinical laboratory scientist, Myra remained deeply committed to her profession and was honored with a 50-Year Golden Membership from the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science in recognition of her longstanding dedication to the field. She also faithfully served as secretary for the Ohio Unit of Registered Parliamentarians, reflecting her commitment to leadership, organization, and service within her community. Myra will be remembered for her intelligence, kindness, steadfast dedication, and the lasting impact she made on those who knew and loved her.
Left to cherish Myra’s memory are her brother, Brett “Scott” (Sharon) Myers; her sister-in-law, Sue Myers; her nieces and nephews, Stephanie (Ryan) McMillan, Jenny (Jacob) Pike, Kimberly Myers, and Jason Myers; and three great-nephews.
Myra was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Betty Myers, and her brother, Kim Myers.
