Christopher “Chip” Hartson was a caring son, brother, uncle and friend. He passed away from cancer July 10, 2026 at the age of 49 with his brother by his side. His 2+ year battle with cancer showed his courage in facing life challenges with a positive attitude. Despite the pain, Chip stayed strong until the end.
Chip was born in Yuma, Arizona to Christy L. Hartson on July 30, 1976. He had a brother, Robert (Jill), a nephew, Ryan, and two nieces, Sara and Jenna.
Chip worked at the Possum Run Walmart where he met most of his closest friends. Chip enjoyed spending time with his friends, family, and cats. He enjoyed golfing with his brother and cousin, Jimmy. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Chip was preceded in death by his beloved mother and maternal grandmother, Shirley Bullock Snyder.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Jubilee for her presence in Chip’s life, and for welcoming Chip’s favorite cat Buddy to her home. The family would also like to thank Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare and Snyder Funeral home for their care and support.
There will be a private burial at Mansfield Memorial Cemetery for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Robert Hartson at 2762 Maplewood Lane, Ashland Ohio 44805 to help cover expenses.
