SHLEYB — On Wednesday, July 8, the collaborative team of Primrose Retirement Community, Cornerstone Caregiving and SouthernCare Hospice along with Blackfork Brewing in Shelby conducted a fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s association, raising $3,000 to support the cause.
Local healthcare partners, businesses, and friends donated lavish raffle baskets and silent auctions items. Baskets include a variety of gift cards, fishing gear, Toy Story gifts, Ohio State items, bourbons, Guardians tickets, Rock n Roll Hall of Fame tickets, snacks, wine, and so much more.
The event was held at Blackfork Brewing during Music Bingo, hosted by Ed Gutchall, creating a fun and lively atmosphere. The brewery was filled with bingo players, along with staff from Cornerstone, SouthernCare and Primrose who came out to show their support.
Adding to the excitement, a Primrose resident won one of the raffle baskets and was able to celebrate the moment via FaceTime, making the evening even more memorable for everyone involved.
“Alzheimer’s is a horrific disease that has impacted all of us in some capacity,” said Allison Campbell, Executive Director of Primrose of Mansfield. “Our team spends our days supporting not only the patients but their families who are struggling along-side of their loved ones.
“We are thrilled by the community’s generosity and spirit. Thanks to everyone’s support, we can make a meaningful difference. We look forward to continuing this important work together again next year.”
