John R. Wolfe, 86, of Olivesburg passed from this life early Saturday morning, June 20, 2026, in his home with his loving family at his side.
He was born on April 25, 1940, in Mansfield, the son of the late Russell and Eunice (Kent) Wolfe.
John graduated from Union High School, Class of 1958. He married the love of his life, the former Bonnie Jean Groff, on July 1, 1961.
John retired after more than 43 years from A.K. Steel in Mansfield. In his spare time, John enjoyed working around the house and farming.
Throughout his life, he enjoyed tinkering around the farm. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. John was a friendly man, always willing to help his neighbors. He was a boy scout leader and proudly served as a trustee of the Mount Olivet Cemetery. For more than 75 years, John was a devoted member of the Olivesburg United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Mrs. Bonnie Wolfe of Olivesburg; two children, Dr. James (Michelle) Wolfe of Mansfield and Lisa (Jeff) Music of Olivesburg; six grandchildren, Erika Weaver of Wooster, Jacob (Annye) Wolfe of Miami, Florida, Paul Wolfe of Reynoldsburg, John Wolfe of Ashland, Nathaniel (fiancé Peyton Collins) Music of Olivesburg, and Audra Music of Olivesburg; three great grandchildren, Brylie and Javion Severs and Faith Weaver; two siblings, David Wolfe of Lucas and Mary (Jack) Mawhorr of Concord, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Beverly Wolfe.
In keeping with John’s wishes, no services will be observed.
