Clinton Jud Brown, 57, of Franklin, Tennessee, formerly of Mansfield, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 9, 2026, surrounded by family and friends after a courageous battle with Diffuse Large B-Cell Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma.

Just one day before his passing, Clint celebrated his 57th birthday exactly as he hoped—with the people he loved most. Family and friends traveled from near and far to spend one more afternoon swapping stories, sharing laughs, and making memories together. What began as a birthday celebration became a farewell filled with gratitude, friendship, and love.

Born June 8, 1969, in Mansfield, Ohio, Clint was the son of William B. Brown and Carol Cleveland Brown. From an early age, he possessed a competitive spirit, unwavering determination, and a natural ability to make everyone around him feel like a lifelong friend.

Many of Clint’s favorite memories were made at the Brown family home on Marion Avenue, where he spent countless summer days alongside his brother Curt and neighborhood friends, riding bikes, playing in the yard, and gathering in the legendary “Panther Clubhouse.” Those friendships would remain some of the most treasured relationships of his life.

His love of swimming flourished at Linden Pool and continued through Malabar High School, where he established records that stood for years. After graduating, he earned an appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point before returning to Ohio to attend The Ohio State University. There, he served as captain of the swim team and earned All-American honors, demonstrating the leadership, discipline, and perseverance that would guide him throughout his life.

Following his graduation from Ohio State in 1992, Clint enjoyed a successful career in the insurance industry, living throughout Memphis, Atlanta, Nashville, and other Southern cities. No matter where he called home, he built meaningful friendships with people from every walk of life. Clint never measured a person by their profession or status; instead, he valued character, loyalty, and genuine connection, making everyone he met feel respected and appreciated. Clint had a gift for making people laugh and could captivate a room with a story, whether it was a cherished childhood memory, an adventure from the road, or a tale that somehow grew just a little better with every retelling. He believed the best conversations happened around a table with good food, cold drinks, and even better company, and he never missed an opportunity to share a laugh with those around him.

Of all his accomplishments, Clint was most proud of his children- Christian, Tyler, Emma Grace, and Landen. Their lives, achievements, and futures were his greatest source of joy and hope.

Clint was welcomed into heaven by his beloved mother, Carol Cleveland Brown.

He leaves behind his father William B. Brown, brother William Curtis Brown, former spouse Wendy Brown, children Christian Brown, Tyler Brown, Emma Grace Brown, and Landen Brown, special friend and devoted caregiver Christina Harris, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and countless dear friends.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Clint’s life on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at the Brown family home, 516 Marion Avenue, Mansfield, Ohio 44903, anytime between 3:00 and 6:00 p.m. Rather than a formal memorial, Clint would have wanted everyone to think of the afternoon as one last backyard party—a time to swap stories, share a few laughs, and celebrate a life well lived. The unofficial dress code is simple: come dressed as though you were meeting Clint at the Wood Street Cafe or the Red Fox Tavern. Bring your favorite beverage, bring your best Clint story, and come ready to enjoy the company of old and new friends. Rain or shine, the celebration will go on, just as Clint would have wanted.

In his final days, Clint witnessed the very thing he had spent a lifetime building. Friends traveled hundreds of miles, called, texted, prayed, visited, and simply showed up to stand beside him and his family. He always believed that relationships were life’s greatest treasure, and the overwhelming love surrounding him served as a lasting testament to the impact he had on so many lives. He leaves behind a legacy of friendship, generosity, unforgettable stories, and laughter that will continue to be shared around backyard gatherings, neighborhood tables, and favorite local spots for years to come. His greatest legacy, however, lives on through his children and the countless lives he touched simply by being himself.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mansfield City Schools, c/o Athletic Department, Attention: Treasurer Tammy Hamilla, P.O. Box 1448, Mansfield, Ohio 44901.
