Michael Allen Garverick, age 59, of Mansfield, Ohio, passed away on June 4, 2026, at OhioHealth Mansfield. He was born August 7, 1966, Crestline, Ohio, to Franklin G. and Mandy M. (Ward) Garverick.
Michael enjoyed restoring old cars and was especially skilled in paint and body work, operating his own shop for many years. He was talented at fixing and building things around the home and took great pride in maintaining a beautiful lawn.
One of his favorite pastimes was fishing with his sons, creating memories he cherished throughout his life. Michael also had a deep love for animals and a compassionate heart, often caring for stray animals and giving them the attention and kindness they needed.
He is survived by his lifetime companion, Tara Cockrell; children, Natalie Cockrell, Christopher Cockrell, and Cory Cockrell; siblings; and close friends, Harry Baldwin and Kandy Bailey, and many other cherished friends.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, and his son, Cody Garverick.
A private gathering will be held at a later date.
