MANSFIELD — Richland County Transit (RCT) and the Richland County Regional Planning Commission (RCRPC) have announced a “Wheels to Work” bike grant program to help people connect to RCT Flex for work.

Four new commuter bikes will be awarded to eligible applicants who would use the bike to connect with the new RCT Flex early morning and late evening transit service that started May 4, 2026.

Prize package highlights

Each of the four selected winners will receive a commuter package, including:

 26-inch, 7-Speed Commuter Bicycle.
 Safety kit (helmet, front/rear lights, reflective safety belt, and mirrors).
 Commuter essentials (master cable lock, phone & cup holder, and a bike pump/repair kit).
 One-month RCT bus pass.

Eligibility & selection criteria

To be eligible, applicants must be at least 18 years old, live more than a half-mile away from the new RCT Flex routes, able to safely ride a bicycle, and lack access to a reliable personal vehicle or ride. Priority scoring will be given to individuals who are currently employed (or hold a verified job offer) and will actively use the bicycle to connect to RCT Flex weekday shifts.

Applications must be received by Friday, June 26 at 4 p.m.

Interested applicants can access fillable forms online at rcrpc.org/wheels-to-work or pick up a printed application at the RCRPC office (19 N. Main St, Mansfield). Winners will be notified by Thursday, July 2.
