Kimberly Kay Bonin lived her life as an artist — not only with paint brushes, frosting bags, costumes and decorations, but in the way she loved people, celebrated family, and turned ordinary moments into something unforgettable. Whether she was creating a birthday cake masterpiece, wrapping a gift so beautifully it almost couldn’t be opened, painting a bedroom mural for a grandchild, Kim added her own special touch to everything she did. Her artistic talent paired with her love of various music and her favorite band Rush. She enjoyed working in her flower garden and tending to her Koi pond. She loved baking, especially cookies that were too beautiful to eat. Her creativity was not limited to one medium; raising her family was perhaps the greatest work of art she ever created.

She volunteered her time at the Bellville Neighborhood Outreach Center, always willing to help others and put her organization skills to good use.

Kim fell in love with camping and all the traditions, adventures, and memories that came with it.
Most importantly, Kim was deeply loved. She was dependable, thoughtful, funny, creative, and endlessly giving.

She had a way of making people feel special, remembered, and cared for. The beauty she created in this world was never just in the things she made, but in the people she loved and the memories she leaves behind.

Kim passed away peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus on May 27, 2026 in OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital, surrounded by the loving family she cherished so deeply, following a hard-fought and courageous battle with several forms of cancer. She was 63.

Born April 1, 1963 to Ronald Frances Kunz and Gail Ann (Phillips) Kunz, Kim was a proud 1981 graduate of Madison High School. She built a long and respected career at Therm-O-Disc, where she worked her way from the assembly line to becoming Operations Manager, serving as second-in-command of day-to-day assembly operations. Her career there spanned from 1995 until her retirement in 2020. Her strong work ethic, leadership, and ability to solve just about any problem earned the respect of countless coworkers and friends through the years.

Kim married Larry Bonin on June 24, 2000, beginning a wonderful marriage filled with laughter, unwavering love, deep commitment, and countless joyful memories together, for almost 26 years.

Though her family’s hearts are broken, they take comfort knowing the masterpiece of love, creativity, and kindness Kim created throughout her life will continue on in every holiday tradition, every thoughtfully wrapped gift, every homemade dessert, every camping trip, and every beautifully imperfect family moment she made brighter simply by being part of it.

She is survived by her beloved husband Larry Bonin, daughter Erica (Laurence) Boor, son Nicholas (Ashlee) Blevins, grandchildren Caleb Blevins and Allison (Jonas) Raber, and Leona Blevins; her first great grandchild baby girl Raber on the way, sister Georgia Kunz, brother Michael (Jennifer) Kunz, brother-in-law John Bonin, sister-in-law Irene Cooperrider, nieces and nephews Joshua (Jessica) Kunz, Zachary (Katie) Kunz and Abigail (Michael) Lonas, along with many great nieces and nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter Julia Ann Stinchcomb-Blevins, father-in-law and mother-in-law Charles and Dorothy Bonin, sister-in-law Cindy Maurer Bonin, and niece Ashley Marie Cooperrider.

Friends may call Wednesday, June 3, 2026 from 10 am to 11:30 am in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home where the funeral service will follow at 11:30 am. Celebrant Jerry Wilson will speak and burial will follow in Bellville Cemetery.
