Richard (Dick) Franklin White of Mansfield, Ohio, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on May 15, 2026, at the age of 88, after a long, courageous battle with illness. He was born on July 23, 1937, in Belaire, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Helen (Rinehart) White, his brother William E. White, Jr., and sister Delores Ann (White) Salisbury.

Dick was a quiet, unassuming man who loved the Lord, his family, model trains and especially his dogs. He was creative, artistic and had a great sense of humor, enjoyed music, cars, singing, and dancing. One of his favorite things to do was play Santa Clause for his grandchildren, the Heart’s Aglow Sunday School Class, and the Ohio District Five Area Agency on Aging in Mansfield. He was a member of the Mansfield Baptist Temple for over 50 years and could often be found singing in the choir or in a special group. He also taught junior church and shared the gospel with his friends and coworkers whenever he could.

He graduated from Williamstown High School in Williamstown, WV, in 1955, and attended classes at Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio, as well as Mountain State Business School in Parkersburg, WV. He joined the army after school and studied to become a lab technician. After fulfilling his duty in the military, he worked at several hospitals in the lab department. He was a hard worker who retired from Mansfield General Hospital in 1999 and then went on to work another 22+ years at Oxyrase Inc., also in Mansfield.

Dick was loved dearly and will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Beverly, and his children, Sam White, Mickey (Rob) Jones, Dori White, and Jim (Hilary) White as well as his two bonus children, Brian (Sherry) Pancake and Tracey Edmonds, 15 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at the Mansfield Baptist Temple, 752 Stewart Rd. N, Mansfield, Ohio, 44905 on Saturday, May 30th, at 3:00 pm with calling hours prior to the service from 1:00 – 3:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions can be made to the Heart’s Aglow Class Missionary Fund in care of the Mansfield Baptist Temple.
